This Week's Editorial

“Dear reader,

Welcome to the world of Westbound Insight.

Why such effort, such conviction, behind this project? Because the observation of current events leads us no longer to mere intuitions, but to firm conclusions about the state of the West.

Yes, the West shines with a thousand lights. How grand and irresistible it appears. But which West are we speaking of? Is it not natural, when evoking this term β€” or more simply, Europe itself, from which the very substratum of Western thought arises β€” to wish to highlight that which, beyond history and its resentments, still fills us with wonder?

To Europe, the world says “yes,” but not to just any Europe.

It must, however, maintain its course, its excellence, its history. Its heritage so often cited, claimed, questioned, fills the literature of the world with such density that one might wonder whether the world is not, in truth, yearning for even more of the West.

This, indeed, is what we believe at Westbound Insight: a quest for the West not endured, but desired and embraced, for the gifts that classical and traditional European culture continues to bring forth in human and intercultural relations.

The global elite still bears witness to this, adorned for the most part with the codes and reflexes that the Old Continent has crystallized through centuries of constructing a civilization that once aspired to be unsurpassable.

We will not go so far as to claim that ambition for ourselves β€” but we will, once again, settle for excellence.

The mission of Westbound Insight is thus this: to offer you, dear reader, what the world of today – but even more so that of yesterday – sought to preserve, for the highest good of tomorrow. A tomorrow marked by cultural and behavioral ascendancy. The elegance of a world, quite simply.

Welcome to Westbound Insight.”
